No End in Sight
No End in Sight
Winner of the Documentary Special Jury Prize at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and executive produced by Alex Gibney, whose film ENRON: THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM was nominated for an Academy Award, NO END IN SIGHT is the first film of its kind to examine the American policies that sent Iraq spiraling into a civil war.
NO END IN SIGHT is a jaw-dropping, insider's tale of the ignorance, incompetence and blind ambition that ensnared the U.S. in a war without a post-invasion plan. High ranking officials tasked with rebuilding Iraq, such as former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Ambassador Barbara Bodine, Lawrence Wilkerson and General Jay Garner, recount principal errors in U.S. policy following the fall of Baghdad which opened the door to the insurgency and chaos that engulf Iraq today. From insufficient troop numbers to secure the country to alienating the Iraqi people, NO END IN SIGHT details how a swift military victory quickly descended into a quagmire.
First time filmmaker Charles Ferguson wrote and directed NO END IN SIGHT and produced the film with Jennie Amias and Jessie Vogelson. The film was executive produced by Alex Gibney (ENRON: THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM, TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE, which recently won the Best Documentary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival).
“A systematic and rigorous history of the Iraq war to date.” (Andrew O’Hehir, Salon.com)
“[Director] Ferguson delivers the calm, meticulous survey of U.S. policy that legions of critics of Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 have been waiting for.” (Robert Koehler, Variety)
“Prepare to be riveted. NO END IN SIGHT is without question the most important movie you are likely to see this year.” (Richard Schickel, Time)
“An absolutely vital film. Exacting, enraging and revelatory.” (A.O. Scott, New York Times)
“No movie has laid out the debacle of Bush and Iraq more clearly, more forthrightly than NO END IN SIGHT. Charles Ferguson has made a masterpiece. It's the most riveting movie I've seen this year.” (Michael Moore)
