A Family Affair
On his 30th birthday, Tom Fassaert receives a mysterious invitation from his 95-year-old grandmother Marianne. At that time, the only thing he knows about her are the myths and predominantly negative stories his father told him. She was a famous model in the 1950s, a real diva. As a mom out of the blue she put her two sons in a children’s home and migrated to South Africa, far from her family.
Fassaert decides to accept her invitation, but not without bringing his camera along. Upon arrival, grandma turns out to still be a femme fatale, whose obsession now turns towards her grandson. While Tom tries to unravel her façade, he becomes more deeply intertwined with his own family history.
