An absent father returns home to attend his nine-year-old son's funeral. His presence is unwelcomed by the boy's mother, who struggles with her loss and the lack control she has over the funeral arrangements. After drunkenly stealing the coffin, both parents find themselves on the road with one last chance to connect.
