Directed by Edward Berger, BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER tells the story of Lord Doyle. A gambling addict, Lord is laying low in Macau and struggling to keep up with his fast-rising debts, when he is offered a lifeline by a mysterious casino employee with secrets of her own. Added to the mix is a private investigator ready to confront Doyle with what he is running from. As our hero tries to climb to salvation, the confines of reality start to close in.
