Event title: TO THE RESTLESS SOULS--HELLO, HELLO! A #cinesilk Screening Event
Synopsis: 2016 marks 25 years of Armenian independence. The USC Institute of Armenian Studies will be screening half a dozen rare films, shot in Armenia over the last quarter century, in order to paint a picture of people's lives, passions, and hopes as they were--and still are--shaped by this historic milestone. Lusine Sargsyan, director of our feature presentation, THE ABODE (2014), will participate in a Q/A about her work and the cinema of independence.
#cinesilk is a USC Institute of Armenian Studies film series focusing on Armenia, the Caucasus Neighborhood, and their many diasporas.
