Join Laemmle, Center Theatre Group, and KCSN 88.5 Beatles D-Jay Les Perry for a special 4-film retrospective on the Fab Four at the NoHo 7!
Of course, we skip the obvious and delve deep into Beatle's lore. It all starts out Thursday night, 7:30pm with the rarely shown I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND (1978), the zany and thoroughly captivating first-time feature from director Robert Zemeckis chronicling the early days of Beatlemania. We follow that up Friday at 10pm with the 2007 romantic musical hit, ACROSS THE UNIVERSE which we will do Sing-A-Long style. So come with vocal chords at-the-ready! Saturday is JOHN LENNON DAY with a double-bill starting at 11am with the little-known, yet critically-acclaimed 1988 documentary IMAGINE: JOHN LENNON. This is followed at 1:30pm with NOWHERE BOY a 2009 award-winning feature staring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Kristin Scott Thomas that poignantly explores John's formative adolescent years, his growing friendship with Paul, and the birth of the Beatles itself.
Les Perry, host of KCSN 88.5's popular "Saturday with the Beatles" will join us Thursday and Friday nights to introduce the movies, talk Beatles, and perhaps even play some of his favorite tunes. So plan to get there early!
Advance tickets are being sold for a special price of $6. This is a LIMITED TIME OFFER so don't delay! Regular admission is $11 (if available). We recommend you buy now to get your best price and secure your seats.
Our festival is part of the city-wide Beatles celebration highlighted by the acclaimed, live stage production of BACKBEAT which comes to Los Angeles direct from London! Backbeat runs at the Ahmanson Theater downtown from January 20 through March 1. For more info visit - CenterTheatregroup.org/Backbeat
