THE NIGHTINGALE is a meditation on the consequences of violence and the price of seeking vengeance from Jennifer Kent, filmmaker of THE BABADOOK. Set during the colonization of Australia in 1825, the film follows Clare, a 21-year-old Irish convict. After she fails to receive justice following a brutal crime committed by her master, she enlists the help of Aboriginal tracker Billy to traverse the country and exact revenge.
