Venla is well aware that having children is a big decision which both parents should consider and agree on. However, her husband is firmly against the idea, and in addition to this, turns out to be sterile. Venla’s only option seems to be the clinic and the millions of sperms lying dormant in liquid nitrogen.

Venla’s dream about a normal family starts to crumble when her friendship with the female doctor helping her in the fertilization process starts to develop into something romantic. In order to get on with her life, Venla has to give up everything she has and accept everything she hasn’t expected.

Producing Adults is a film of the human need to control life, plan, categorize and produce it. A film of what happens when all those plans fail. A story of a woman who at the same time experiences the best in life and the worst in life.
