Music From the Inside Out

The filmmaker will participate in a Q&A after the 5:15 and 7:35 p.m. screening on Friday, March 24th.

Music is the main character of filmmaker Daniel Anker's extraordinary documentary, the result of a unique collaboration with musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Through the stories, passions and artistry of the musicians of a world-class orchestra, Anker explores the intersection of art and life, revealing the magic and mystery of music itself. Incorporating a blend of well-loved musical works—including classical, jazz, bluegrass, salsa, and world music—performances are interwoven with the musicians' individual stories, each of which has at its core the struggle to find personal expression when one's profession requires performance as part of an ensemble.
