The Misandrists

THE MISANDRISTS is the incredible new film from legendary punk rock queer filmmaker Bruce LaBruce. A provocative comedic thriller about a group of lesbian terrorists posing as a school for wayward girls in the Ger(wo)man countryside, THE MISANDRISTS is a titillating piece of entertainment that's unafraid of controversy and discussion. Starring frequent LaBruce collaborator Susanne Sachsse, noted performance artist Kembra Pfahler, and stunning newcomer Kita Updike in a rare role for a trans actress.

"Grade: A... LaBruce has a facility for contemporary gender politics, turning his feminist utopia into a critique of essentialist views even as it pays tribute to such lofty feminist ideals." - Indiewire

"By ditching testosterone for estrogen, LaBruce finds himself in cahoots with the all-girl spirit of entertainment right now... Anybody could shake their rump to The Misandrists’s sassy disavowal of the 'normal.'" - Artforum
