Cat Women of the Moon

The L.A. Connection Comedy Group dubs Cat Women of the Moon at the Laemmle Royal Thursday April 8 at 10 p.m. with a special bonus screening of Peter Graves in Beneath the 12 Mile Reef from the hit TV series Mad Movies

CAT WOMEN OF THE MOON was created in 1953 and stars legendary sultry “noir” star Marie Windsor. An expedition to the moon discovers a subterranean cavern of ferocious, love-starved cat-women who have not seen men for years. In LAC’s dubbed version our crew is on the Love Shuttle hoping to find romance on the moon.

Our feature is followed by a tribute to Peter Graves with our Mad Movie of BENEATH THE TWELVE MILE REEF. It stars a young Peter Graves and Robert Wagner. L.A. Connection’s Kent Skov also interviews Academy Award-winning actress Terry Moore, who stars in the film. LAC’s version is a Jacque Cousteau spoof about sea brains and young love mating rituals. Thus a new LAC DUB-A-VISION classic is born.

The Sherman Oaks based comedy troupe L.A. Connection has been dubbing old films since 1982. The process began with a live performance of “Attack of The 50 Foot Woman” at the Fox Venice Theater. Since then the group has dubbed hundreds of movies live and has produced the cult hit series “Mad Movies”, which was Nickelodeon’s top rated show for two years. LAC was also nominated for a CableAce Award in the “Best Comedy Special” category for dubbing a Sherlock Holmes classic on The A&E Network.

The concept is simple. The actors sit in the front row armed with microphones and a live sound musician. LAC then eliminates the original soundtrack and the actors dub in a brand new hilarious comedy soundtrack live.
