Beautiful Boy
Bill (Michael Sheen) and Kate (Maria Bello) try to find an explanation after learning that their son committed mass murder at his university before taking his own life. They struggle numbly through the funeral, the media onslaught, and the awkward pity from relatives and friends. Their already strained marriage is tested as they realize all they have left is their shared grief, confusion and the legacy of their son. This life-altering event forces them to face their feelings of guilt, rage, blame, self-discovery - and ultimately hope - so that they can see each other and their chance for happiness again with clear eyes.
“Maria Bello and Michael Sheen carry this poignant drama into our hearts and minds with fierce integrity and authenticity about a family struggling to deal with an unimaginable tragedy.” (Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, Spirituality and Practice)
