A Wolf at the Door

Set in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro and based on real events, A WOLF AT THE DOOR is a nerve-rattling tale of a kidnapped child and the terror of the parents left behind. When Sylvia (Fabíula Nascimento) discovers her six-year-old daughter has been picked up at school by an unknown woman, police summon her husband Bernardo (Milhem Cortaz) to the station for questioning. There Bernardo confesses his extra-marital affair with the beautiful young Rosa (Leandra Leal), whom detectives believe to be involved in the kidnapping. Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Coimbra's suspenseful debut feature captures the heightened anxiety of every parent’s worst nightmare, casting a light upon the cruelties of which humans are capable.

"A Wolf at the Door hits like a sledgehammer. Seriously, it's the only SXSW screening I attended this year where, once the movie ended and the credits rolled, nobody got up to leave right away. Everyone just sat there, in silence, stunned and rattled." Tara Aquino and Matt Barone, Complex Magazine

"Eerily inspired by real events, A Wolf at the Door presents us with every parent's worst nightmare, which unfolds in a methodical pacing that is as menacing as the creeping camera zooms... the masterful unfolding of the narrative pieces will most likely win [the film] some critical acclaim. "WOLF starts out as a whodunnit and quickly shifts to we-know-who-done-it but WHY? and, just when the storm starts to settle, WOLF flips with a thunderbolt of surprises to a devastating finale." Chase Whale, Twitch
