Saturday 5th, after the 11 a.m. screening: Professor Leon Waszak, Chapter President, Churchillians of Southern California, long-time member of The Churchill Centre at the Cabinet War Rooms, Chicago and London and Professor of modern European History with a focus on World War II diplomacy at Cerritos College
Sunday 6th, after the 11 a.m. screening: John David Olsen is the Director of Communications and Webmaster for the Churchill Centre and Museum and has been a member of the Centre since 2003.
Winston Churchill: Walking With Destiny examines Churchill’s years in the political wilderness, his early opposition to Adolf Hitler and Nazism, his support for Jews under threat by the Nazi regime and his ascension to the Prime Ministership in 1940. Sir Martin Gilbert, historical consultant for the film and Winston Churchill’s official biographer, theorizes that Western Civilization as we know it was saved by Churchill during the period when he, alone among world leaders, stood up to Hitler and Nazism.
