The Wilde Girls

Set against the raw backdrop of the Great Depression, The Wilde Girls is a spirited, heartfelt comedy from director Timothy Hines (10 Days in a Madhouse, Tomorrow's Today) that dares to ask: what happens when privilege meets the wilderness?
New York socialites Mattie and Tinsley Wilde have never lifted a finger in their lives. But after their father dies and their family fortune vanishes overnight, the pampered sisters are shipped off to the pre-electrified wilderness of the Pacific Northwest —alone, broke, and utterly unprepared. Their powerful aunts want them gone for good, even placing a secret bounty on their heads to ensure they never return to high society.

Enter Silas, a surly, reluctant mountain man — played with gruff charm by stand-up comic Teddy Smith — who becomes their only chance at survival. With no skills, no sense, but plenty of sass, the Wilde girls must trade their silk for burlap and learn what really matters when everything's stripped away.

Filmed on location in Washington State,
The Wilde Girls mixes slapstick, satire, and survival in a story rooted in real Depression-era struggles. Inspired by first hand interviews Hines conducted with survivors of the 1930s, the film weaves humor and humanity into a tale of loss, resilience, and transformation. Starring Cali Scolari (daughter of Emmy-winner Peter Scolari) and Lydia Pearl Pentz, with producing partner Susan Goforth at the helm, The Wilde Girls is a laugh-out-loud, unexpectedly moving portrait of two unlikely heroines who lose it all—and find so much more.
