Where the Trail Ends

Where the Trail Ends is a film following the worlds top free-ride mountain bikers as they search for unridden terrain around the globe, ultimately shaping the future of big mountain free riding. This unparalleled story documents man's challenge of mother nature and himself showcased through a cast of colorful characters. This is the most progressive and ambitious mountain biking ever attempted resulting in an entertainment adventure unlike anything experienced before.

Featured Athletes:

Darren Berrecloth: Darren Berrecloth is singlehandedly responsible for the modern state of freeriding. From his humble roots growing up in Vancouver Island’s Qualicum Beach, B.C., he exploded into the world of mountain biking with style. He introduced BMX-styled tricks into big mountain freeriding, has competed in every major event in the game, and continues to blaze a new path wherever he goes. His namesake slopestyle contest – Mount Washington’s Bearclaw Invitational – is a pivotal stop on the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. In Where The Trail Ends, Berrecloth steps outside the competition circuit to search for a new, higher podium.
Cameron Zink: With huge heart and an even larger ability to go big, Reno, Nevada’s Cameron Zink has pushed what’s possible on a bike since he arrived on the scene in 2004. Zink’s trademark 360 and fierce determination have allowed him to win every major competition in freeride, including Crankworx Slopestyle and Red Bull Rampage. In the past two years, Zink has executed both the largest ever backflip off a drip and the biggest 360 in the sport, the latter in competition. His riding has undisputedly elevated the bar higher than ever. Where The Trail Ends bears witness to Zink’s dominance, ferocity and style.

Kurt Sorge: Nelson, B.C.’s Kurt Sorge is known as a good guy with a badass style. Born in the sculpted lips and transitions of dirt jumps and raised on Nelson’s burly freeride trails, Sorge has evolved into a versatile rider who can do it all, but who navigates towards the gravity of unhindered big mountain riding. He has stood on the podiums at Red Bull Rampage and Chatel Mountain Style, and his talent for tricking features means his lines are often punctuated with slopestyle-like action. In Where The Trail Ends, he takes these skills to terrain that has never seen tire marks.

Andreu Lacondeguy: Barcelona’s Andreu Lacondeguy has a reputation for reckless, balls-out riding and the kind of partying that follows suit. He is one of the best dirt jumpers on the planet. He’s also been an outspoken voice for the sport, fighting for bigger and better slopestyle course construction. Lacondeguy is famous for the double backflip he landed in front of a crowd of 20,000 at Whistler’s Crankworx, and established himself as a rider who does not back down from a challenge. He continues to knock down walls in his quest to take the sport where he thinks it should be. In Where The Trail Ends, the fiery Catalonian dirt jumper has his perspective shifted by the new ground being broken in front of him every step of the trip.

James Doerfling: As rough around the edges as the town he hails from, Williams Lake, B.C.’s James Doerfling is a big mountain rider who has redefined freeride style. Doerfling is at home throttling down steep, virgin slopes, and the style he’s honed in Northern B.C. is a perfect complement to the terrain found in Where The Trail Ends. He was instrumental in making the Fraser River segment happen, and was hand-picked by Darren Berrecloth and Freeride Entertainment founder Derek Westerlund to go on the first trip to the Gobi. The reason why will be immediately evident when the film hits the big screen.
