Waiting in Beijing - Great Wall of ChinaInspired by true events, and showing a realistic portrayal of modern-day Beijing, the original story of “Waiting in Beijing” is set during the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq and the SARs outbreak in China. A love triangle between three cultural identities starts in Paris with George (Kelly Nyks), an American that falls in love with an Iraqi student, Nadia (Tala Ashrafi). Nadia is called back to Bahgdad when the US invades her country, but before leaving, she plans to meet George in China. When Nadia does not appear for their rendezvous, George is left “waiting in Beijing.” His luck changes when a Chinese woman, Judy (Song Li Ching) takes it on as her personal mission to help him find his lost lover. However, along the way, she finds that she has also fallen in love with the heartbroken American. An unforgettable love story emerges amidst the backdrop of one of the most controversial wars in human history.

The American union film was shot on location in Beijing and Paris by cinematographer Wen Deguang, featuring breathtaking shots of famous landmarks from The Great Wall of China to L’Arc D’Triumph. The film is the directorial debut of Alan Zhang (writer/producer). The film is a RedMaiden Entertainment and Tiandihetai Film, LTD co-production, produced in association with China Film Group.
