Past Run
The Urn
THE URN follows a very busy week in the life of a Secular Jewish family dealing with Grandma Sophie’s death. Much to her son Joseph’s chagrin, her husband Sol has cremated her and insists on carrying her urn everywhere with him. At the same time, Joseph’s free-spirited ex-wife Zoe shows up for the funeral. Their son Daniel also makes a surprise appearance: he has been in Israel for two years studying to be a Hassidic Jew, unbeknownst to any of the family. And if that wasn’t enough excitement, Cousin Albert from the wrong side of the tracks, makes a surprise visit with outlandish requests of his own.
