The Thin Man
THE THIN MAN is bursting with sophisticated elegance. The lush sets evoke a time when hotel rooms were more luxurious. As the threatening atmosphere picks up in act three, aided by the wonderful use of light and shadow by JWH, a tangible sense of darkness begins to descend, a precursor of the film noir style that was to take the next decade by storm. Despite the dip into darkness, the tone remains bright and breezy, and is paced so quickly that you won't be able excuse yourself from the table.
