Tetro
Francis Ford Coppola’s drama about tensions within an Italian immigrant family living in Argentina. Vincent Gallo plays the title character, a writer; Alden Ehrenreich is his younger brother; Maribel Verdú is his girlfriend; Klaus Maria Brandauer is the formidable paterfamilas. It’s Mr. Coppola’s first film in black-and-white since Rumble Fish and his first original screenplay since The Conversation.
“TETRO is a visually lush cinematic fugue about love, ambivalence and two brothers fleeing the dark shadow of their domineering father.” (Manohla Dargis, New York Times)
“Francis Ford Coppola returns to form with his richest, most enrapturing film since Apocalypse Now. The black-and-white cinematography alone is as intoxicating as a bottle of the director's finest red.” (Aaron Hillis, Village Voice)
