The Stone Angel
Feisty firecracker Hagar Shipley has lived an unconventional life. Her passionate heart has always ruled her head and her choices have put her at odds with family and friends. Faced with the prospect of being placed in a nursing home, and desperate to find solace, Hagar sets out on a journey with the hopes of reconciling herself to her turbulent past. Through her reflections we come to know a passionate and rebellious young bride, her love for her two sons, the freedoms she claimed, and the joys she denied herself. In both the past and the present, she is forced to come to terms with the pain and pleasure, the disappointments and the exhilarations of her life. Based on the best selling novel, The Stone Angel by Margaret Laurence.
