Stand-by Me is directed by Martijn de Jong and produced by ALP (Aiss Leeksma Pictures) in co-production with the NTR. De Jong has worked as a creative director at advertising agencies and has won several international awards and nominations. His newest film Stand-by Me will have its premiere at the coming edition of Netherlands Film Festival in September 2013.
Stand-by Me is about retired Willem who is behaving strangely these days. Instead of spending quality time with his long-suffering wife Johanna, he insists on showing her how to use all the electrical appliances around the house. Especially the remote control. A short tragicomedy about enjoying the small things in life.
