Soul Mate

The life of a man recovering from a stint in an asylum forms the focus for this moving feature film from Iranian director Mehdi Fakhim-Zadeh. After recovering from a severe mental illness, Behrouz is released and attempts to pull the meagre threads of his life back together. He meets a woman, Shirin, and falls in love with her. The two marry on a whim, and decide to take a devil-may-care attitude to life which sees them spinning off on numerous adventures. A heartwarming story unfolds, illustrating that sometimes life can shine kindly on those who have suffered grave misfortune.
