Something to Cheer About
An incredible documentary about the first all-black high school to win a state basketball championship in the country, a seminal event leading up to the civil rights movement of the 1960s. The Crispus Attucks high school team of the mid-fifties fought racism and their own circumstances in the poorest section of Indianapolis with the help of their coach and mentor Ray Crowe, who molded the boys into men and led them to history. This team is considered by many to be the best high school basketball team of all-time. Their up-tempo play and athleticism, lead by future NCAA and NBA great Oscar Robertson, generated a new style that lives today in the modern game.
