Past Run
Shane
Shane is back, in all of his cinematic glory. George Stevens’s title character, played by
an utterly compelling Alan Ladd, is one of film’s great heroes, carefully balancing right
and wrong. And then there is Jack (Jack Palance), menacing and sadistic, truly one of
cinema’s most vile villains. The settings are artfully detail-minded, the landscape
breathtaking, and the ending, of course, heartbreaking.
