Shakespeare behind bars
This doc follows an amateur Shakespeare company working behind bars in a Kentucky prison. For one year a cast comprised of convicted felons rehearse and perform a full production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Fittingly, it is a play about, among other things, forgiveness. We watch the human psyche unfold in all of its complexity as these ostracized men reveal their kindness, generosity and faith. "Remarkable, moving …makes Shakespeare come alive." (Hollywood Reporter)
“Powerful! Inspiring! Moving! Reconfirms the enduring relevance and power of Shakespeare.” – Kevin Crust, (Los Angeles Times)
