Silvestar has for some time been the oldest Kolbas in his family. What at first seems to be just a home-movie becomes, in this simple, engaging, and heartfelt rendering, the exploration of what it means to be a parent: how a parent endures; how a parent fails ;and how a parent succeeds. This Croatian family faces challenges that are both unique and universal. There are no answers here or resolutions -- just an unvarnished forward momentum -- towards what we are left to ponder.
