Scumrock

Scumrock

Jon Moritsugu ("Mod Fuck Explosion", "Fame Whore", "Terminal USA", "Der Elvis"), master of the low-budget fever dream, has created his most freaked-out flick to date. Not only does "Scumrock" shatter the myth of what cool is but it was shot entirely on analog Hi8 video with a $300 consumer camera. "Scumrock" cleaned-up the New York and Chicago Underground Film Festivals by winning "Best Feature" Award at both.
"Scumrock" follows hipster Miles Morgan (played by Kyp Malone of the very real band "TV on the Radio") who is trying to create the ultimate art film, as well as Moritsugu mainstay Amy Davis as Roxxy the punkoid rocker from hell, commanding her band to regain their once "cult status". Smashed dreams and untimely love abound in Moritsugu's magnum opus. Along for the ride are James Duval (of Donnie Darko) and producer Andrea Sperling ("Pumpkin", "But I'm a Cheerleader", "Prozac Nation", 4 films by Gregg Araki).
