SABER ROCK chronicles the unbelievable lengths one man is willing to go and the sacrifices he makes to help coalition forces retake his country from the Taliban. Saber Rock is an expert translator. He has a command of seven middle eastern languages and an undeniable charisma that makes him a brother to everyone he meets. He is a young but battle hardened veteran when he is assigned to work with a small hand-picked team of US Marines deploying to one of the most violent regions in the country. Their mission is to drive a wedge between the Taliban and the Afghan villagers in Helmand Province. All of their communication would have to pass through Rock, making him a lynchpin for winning over the hearts and minds of the Afghan people. The team decides to set up schools for children who are at risk of becoming employed by the Taliban. Rock introduces them to books and hand crank radios that he uses to spread positive messages about coalition forces. As Rock’s successes mount, the team receives intelligence that the Taliban has put a bounty on his head. Rock refuses to back down and tells the Marines he will never leave Helmand until they do.
