ROUGH MAGIC:EXIT SHAKESPEARE finds Shakespeare at a profound crisis in his life. Torn by guilt about missing the death of his young son years before, stuck creatively, spurned by his own theater, he faces the end of his career. He wanders London fearing his life’s work will be forgotten. Has any of it been worth it? Blocked, unable to write, he says “if I can’t write, who am I?” In this dark night of the soul, can he find a way to embrace life and the theater and even his family?
