Rescue Dawn

Director Werner Herzog expands his documentary short Little Dieter Needs to Fly into a terrific fiction feature. Christian Bale stars as Dieter Dengler, an American pilot who was shot down over Vietnam and held in a Vietcong prison camp. With Jeremy Davies and Steve Zahn.

“This polished, cleanly made pic still packs a wrenching emotional punch and, if backed by critics and auds, could earn more for Herzog than his last 10 features put together.” (Leslie Felperin, Variety)
