Directed and co-written by Rebecca (Other People's Children) Zlotowski, A PRIVATE LIFE is a black comedy mystery that stars Jodie Foster (in her third French-language film) alongside Daniel Auteuil, Virginie Efira and Mathieu Amalric. When psychiatrist Lilian Steiner learns that one of her patients has taken their own life, her suspicion that foul play was involved - along with concern for professiona reputation - leads her to mount a private investigation into the circumstances.
