Past Run
Passage to Marseille
Director Michael Curtiz gathers the usual suspects (Humphrey Bogart, Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet, Claude Rains, etc.) for a gripping World War II saga. Told in flashbacks within flashbacks with gritty photography setting the mood, Bogey, a French journalist framed for murder, escapes Devil’s Island. He soon finds himself returning to a Vichy France aboard a boat which is about to be seized by the fascists.
