No Other Choice
Isn't just Park's funniest film, but his most humane, too – and that's quite something for a comedy as violent as this one.
No Other Choice
This satirical black comedy comes from acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan-wook, director of The Handmaiden and Decision to Leave. Based on Donald E. Westlake's novel THE AX, the story follows Man-su (Lee Byung-hun) on his desperate hunt for a new job after his abrupt layoff from the paper company he served for 25 years. He decides to kill off his competition to be assured of the job he seeks to maintain his way of life. A hit on the festival circuit, NO OTHER CHOICE is the South Korean entry in this year's race for the Best International Feature Oscar.
