Robert Cazimero, kumu hula for Na Kamalei ("the lei of children") -- Hawaii's only hula academy strictly for men-is profiled in the new film by the director of AMERICAN ALOHA (Festival 2003). Cazimero, on his 30th anniversary of teaching, prepares his students for the prestigious Merrie Monarch Festival, and follows him to the exciting, pahu-pounding finale where his students dance not to win, but to continue a proud legacy of Hawaiian men.
