The Master
A 1950s-set drama about the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as "the Master" (Philip Seymour Hoffman) whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young veteran-turned-drifter (a feral Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man. Amy Adams co-stars. This is Paul Thomas Anderson's follow-up to There Will Be Blood.
