Marie Antoinette

Sofia Coppola’s historical epic envisions the well-known last queen of France as a happy blonde teenager (Kirsten Dunst) who just wants to have fun. The largely French-free cast includes Jason Schwartzman as Louis XVI, Rip Torn as Louis XV and the heaving bosoms of Judy Davis, Rose Byrne, Asia Argento, Molly Shannon, Shirley Henderson and Marianne Faithfull. “A buoyant, passionately sympathetic dream-bio.” (salon.com) “With lyrical intelligence and scrappy wit, Coppola creates a luscious world to get lost in. It's a pleasure.” (Rolling Stone) “Highly theatrical and yet also intimate and informal, Marie Antoinette lets its story slink almost casually through its lovingly composed and rendered images.” (New York Times) “Dazzling.” (New York Post)
