Mao’s Last Dancer

From the veteran Australian filmmaker Bruce Beresford (Breaker Morant), the true story of a Li Cunxin, a dancer drafted at the age of 11 to join Madame Mao’s Beijing dance studio and sent to Houston in a cultural exchange program. He doesn’t want to go back. With Bruce Greenwood, Kyle MacLachlan, Joan Chen and Chi Cao.

““Unbelievable but true, it is as entertaining as it is astounding. In the cherished tradition of heartbreaking movies about personal triumph against impossible odds, it is a combination of Billy Elliot and Rocky.””

— Rex Reed, New York Observer
