Madrid, 1987
Ángela is a young and ambitious journalism student who, for a class project, has interviewed one of the most well-known and revered newspaper writers in Spain during the democratic transition that took place after Franco’s long dictatorship. On a summer day, they meet again and he tries to seduce her, seeking in her youth the antidote to his own decay, while she gets caught up trying to gain access to the source of his talent, the secrets of their profession. Chance forces them to remain together on a very particular day, locked in the bathroom of an apartment he has borrowed from a friend.
It’s a generational battle that pits two universes against each other in Madrid 1987, subjected to desire, to the instinct for survival and to the equilibriumbetween the experiences of the past and hope for the future. Miguel and Ángela are like two ships in the night, each on a different course. He is on the return voyage; she is still departing. Nothing will ever be the same for them after they get locked in together. It’s the story of an intellectual and erotic duel in which they are forced to display their nakedness in front of one another in a manner more intense than each had imagined possible.
