Lovers and Other Strangers

LOVERS AND OTHER STRANGERS was nominated for three Academy Awards in 1970 and won the Oscar for best original song, "For All We Know." This sharp and poignant comedy examines the relationships of a dozen characters involved in preparing for a family wedding. The superb ensemble cast includes Oscar winners Gig Young, Cloris Leachman, and Diane Keaton (in her first screen role), two-time Oscar nominee Richard Castellano, Emmy winner Bea Arthur, theater veterans Anne Jackson and Anne Meara, and up-and-coming screen performers Bonnie Bedelia, Michael Brandon, Bob Dishy, and Marian Hailey. Writing in Time magazine, Jay Cocks called the film "a first-rate showcase for some of the year's best ensemble acting." Leonard Maltin praised it as a "vividly real, genuinely funny movie."

Joining us will be the film's Oscar-nominated screenwriters, Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, who adapted the film from their own play. Taylor and Bologna have been active as writers, directors, and performers for stage, screen, and television over the last 50 years. Cast members will also attend this reunion screening, including Oscar and Emmy winner Cloris Leachman and Bonnie Bedelia, whose many credits include
They Shoot Horses, Don't They, Heart Like a Wheel, Die Hard, Presumed Innocent, and the TV series, Parenthood.
