Love

Enter the Void director Gaspar Noe helms this envelope-pushing, non-linear narrative examining modern love and sexual desires. Murphy is an American living in Paris who enters a highly sexually and emotionally charged relationship with the unstable Electra. Unaware of the effect it will have on their relationship, they invite their pretty neighbor into their bed.

“A courageously personal account of an aspiring filmmaker torn between the mother of his child and the one that got away. Daringly explores the emotional foundation of coital acts.” - Peter Debruge, Variety

“Pushes the envelope even further than Lar von Trier’s unrated “Nymphomaniac,” and makes “Fifty Shades of Grey” look like “Pillow Talk.’” - Ramin Setoodeh, Variety

“Love is an entertainingly raunchy vaudeville with a surreal streak of despair.” - Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

“If you can get on Love’s mad, ridiculous wavelength, it can be transporting.” - TIm Grierson, Paste

“HYPNOTIZING. The movie pulsates with anxious, lovelorn energy.” - Tim Grierson, Paste

“One of the rare films about love or relationships that puts real stock in the couple’s sexual life. A legitimately sexy film, Love isn’t just titillating but also fascinating, showing how people’s bedroom activities are sometimes easier to negotiate than their lives upright. ” - Tim Grierson, Paste

“Feels radically intimate, almost as if you’re peeping into a shoebox with the lovers inside.” - Robbie Collin, The Telegraph

“Contains some of the prettiest shagging scenes in cinematic history.” - Leslie Felperin, The Hollywood Reporter

“Noé retains a knack for visual composition and for the tenor of urban nightlife; his frames have the geometry of graphic novel panels and third-person, open-world games. An argument staged in silhouette in the back of a taxi makes bold, dramatic use of 3D, and laser lights and strobes confuse the visual planes of a night club scene.”- Ignatiy Vishnevetsky, AV Club

“A sliver of true intimacy that is rarely seen in narrative film.” - Gregory Ellwood, Hitfix

“The sex is definitely something — exquisitely composed and shot, embodying the lust, the tenderness, the anger, the frustration, or the love its participants happen to be feeling.” - Alison Willmore, Buzzfeed

“Visceral Brilliance.” - Kaleem Aftab, The Independent

“Soaked in original style. Powerful atmospherics.” - Donald Clarke, The Irish Times

“Emotionally raw.” Phil Brown, Collider

“A moving and engaging work.” Jason Gorber, Dorkshelf
