Past Run
The Lonely Lady
"I don't suppose I'm the only one who's had to f**k her way to the top!" shouts Pia Zadora in what may be the looniest show business saga ever made. Financed by Zadora's gazillionaire then-husband, this big-screen adaptation of the trashy Harold Robbins novel features the starlet as a would-be writer who gets abused by a series of producers, hustlers, husbands, and sleazeballs (including Ray Liotta, making an undistinguished motion picture debut as a teenage date rapist). Movies are rarely this wonderfully, deliciously unhinged.
