A Liar's Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python's Graham Chapman
- to give it its full title - is an animated comedy that portrays the life of Monty Python member Chapman in hilarious fashion. It's loosely based on Chapman's book of the same name. Four of the surviving Pythons contributed multiple voices to the film, as do Python gal Carol Cleveland and Stephen Fry. Cameron Diaz portrays Sigmund Freud! The film draws on Chapman's own voice—from a reading of his autobiography made shortly before his untimely death in 1989. The film brings together the work of fourteen different animation studios, each conveying a chapter of Chapman's life in a different style, evoking other episodic animated films such as Fantasia and Allegro Non Troppo. The polyglot mixture of styles perfectly captures the wildly entertaining essence of the madcap Chapman.
