Past Run
The Last King of Scotland
The brutal rule of Uganda’s Idi Amin (Forest Whitaker, the winner for the Best Actor Oscar), as witnessed by the Scottish doctor (James McAvoy) who Amin corralled as his personal physician. Kevin Macdonald dierected; with Gillian Anderson and Kerry Washington. Whitaker is stunning as Amin: “the role of his life . . . never has a monster been more magnetic.” (New York Times)
Whitaker is the 2007 Golden Globe winner for Best Actor and was also named co-best actor of 2006 -- in a tie with Sasha Baron Cohen for BORAT -- by the L.A. Film Critics Association.
