Lars and the Real Girl

Ryan Gosling headlines a terrific independent comedy about a timid young man who introduces his family to his new girlfriend -- a mail order inflatable sex doll. With Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer and Paul Schneider.

“Tenderly depicting his characters' human foibles with low-key visual humor, [the director] never condescends or goes for an easy joke.” (Alissa Simon, Variety)

“LARS might at first sound like a movie you wouldn't want your kids to see, but it has a heart of gold.” (John Defore, Hollywood Reporter)

And here is a rave review -- of both the film and our Sunset 5 -- at la2day.com: http://www.la2day.com/movie/lars_and_the_real_girl
