The King

A feature documentary about a great sportsman: Darko Kralj (the King) is the only athlete in the history of sports who has set and then surpassed his own world record five times in a row at world championship events. A Croatian Paralympian shot putter, Kralj was grievously wounded in 1991 during the war in Croatia, lost his left leg and almost died. Doctors didn't expect him to survive. Today he lives with his wife and three sons, the eldest an adoptee orphaned by the same war that injured Kralj. THE KING is a moving portrait of the man, his family and the source of his strength and love for life.
