The Kid
"The Kid", is a story of a young aspiring poet , Frankie O'Reilly who at the age of 12, because of harsh circumstances in his life; a mother who passed away and his abusive father still struggling to come to terms with it, is forced to grow up too fast on the streets of Venice Beach. As he struggles to raise enough money to get his first poem published, he finds himself falling in love with a prostitute not much older than himself.
THE KID premiered at the 2013 Raindance Film Festival in September, where director Sean Brosnan also was selected as member of the jury. Brosnan was also awarded the prize for Best Short Film at The Louisville International Festival of Film in October. The Kid will continue to run on the film festival circuit for the next coming year, 2014.
