Kick-Ass

A nerdy high school student and comic book fan decides to become an amateur super-hero, even though he has no apparent skills for the job, and quickly generates a YouTube-inspired following and imitators, some with actual super-hero-like abilities. With Aaron Johnson as the title character, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Chloe Moretz Hit-Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad) as Red Mist.

“Perhaps I shouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did: but with more energy and satire and craziness in its lycra-gloved little finger than other films have everywhere else, Kick-Ass is all pleasure and no guilt.” (Peter Bradshaw, Guardian)

“The film is completely stolen by Chloe Grace Moretz, who's simultaneously adorable, foul-mouthed, hilarious and unspeakably violent; her fight scenes are thrillingly shot and genuinely exciting to watch.” (Matthew Turner, ViewLondon)
