The Intouchables
Based on a true story, The Intouchables follows the unlikely friendship between wealthy paraplegic Philippe (Francois Cluzet) and Driss (Omar Sy), a guy from the streets. When Philippe appoints Driss as his right-hand man, he counts on Driss’ pitiless, strong-arm approach to keep their relationship functional and straightforward. What neither expects is the friendship that develops between the two men. Inspiring, heartbreaking, and at times outright hilarious, The Intouchables follows their journey of self discovery, as both men uncover aspects of themselves that they never would have believed existed.
“It’s the rare crowdpleaser that is not only funny, but has a tremendous amount of heart and even a little bit of an edge to it.” Jonathan Sullivan / The Film Stage
“The Intouchables plays as an intimate, inordinately warm, and quite believable drama with an abundance of comedy, buoyed considerably by the performances of Cluzet and, especially, Sy, whose laughter is as infectious as Julia Roberts' in Pretty Woman.” Peter Martin / Twitch Film
