inside man

A hostage negotiator in over his head (Denzel Washington) tries to talk down a bank robber (Clive Owen) in the midst of the perfect crime. Director Spike Lee has taken a familiar genre -- the heist picture -- and shaped it with his personal vision, resulting in his best work since 2002's The 25th Hour. Jodie Foster co-stars. "The mother lode all action/suspense directors search for and Lee . . . has hit it." (Hollywood Reporter)
